The Promise of Salvation

God promises salvation and eternal life. Understanding the identity of Jesus Christ is central to salvation. I came into a saving knowledge of Christ at the age of 12 and as an outward symbol of this knowledge I was baptized. Everyone is different in their experience and journey. I received the fullness of the Holy Spirit at the age of 25. What exactly does receiving the Holy Spirit mean (The Holy Spirit comes after you turn and give yourself to Christ)? For me, it was an experience like no other, I became excited about the mention of Christ, I hungered, and thirsted for more of Him and I read the bible consistently, I began to pray more often, and restarted Sunday school and Bible Study weekly. There is an ever-present closeness, joy and peace in abundance from Christ's acknowledged presence in my life. Christ pursued me and He is pursuing you. Why not stop, repent of your sins, confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that He is the King of King and Lord of Lord?

Salvation

We are imperfect people with a perfect God. Salvation is deliverance of humanity from sin and its consequences (eternity without God) through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Sin is spiritual crime. Romans 6:23 concluded, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.” Eternal life is entirely a gift. Salvation comes as a free gift by gracethrough faith! And this leaves no room for anyone to boast that they earned it through their own goodness. Paul states plainly in the bible that even faith is a gift. Otherwise, it would, like any other “work,” generated by human effort. We do not get credit for any of God’s work. In Ephesians 2:8-9, Paul emphasizes that faith is a gift from God: "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works…” Open yourself up to God by talking to Him and asking Him to come into your life, you also will receive this gift. When He comes in, you will experience joy, excitement and a strong desire to know more about Him. He will give you the desires of your heart!
